How to Photograph a Lifestyle and Branding Portrait Session
How to Photograph a Lifestyle and Branding Portrait Session
Aside from wedding photography, one of my other favorite genre of photography are lifestyle and branding photography for small to large business owners. I like to create more of a relaxed and lifestyle feel to my images and always curate/direct (posing, direction, aesthetics) the shoot so that it reflects the clients brand and business. In this video, I share with you some tips and tricks on how I create, curate, and produce branding and lifestyle images for all my business clients. If you stick around to the end, I also share the behind-the-scenes of one of my most recent branding and lifestyle sessions. Download the ‘Identify Your Clients Brand/Business’ worksheet here: https://hannahquintana.com/education
This should help you to create and curate the images of your client to reflect who they are as a business owner and what they offer.
Here are the topics I cover:
0:35: What is lifestyle branding photography?
1:20: Tip #1: Do the research. Understand who your client is as a business and brand.
2:03: Tip #2: Find the right location tailored to your clients brand
2:24: Tip #3: Cover the baseline–take the professional headshots as well as lifestyle photos
2:36: Tip #4: Incorporate their business, personality, brand into the photos
2:56: Tip #5: How to frame the images
3:47: Behind-the-scenes of a lifestyle and branding photography session

The shoot looked interesting. I wish the final photos were included in this video. sigh
This was so helpful and interesting. Thank you! I love how you were all over the place getting all those angles and gently directed ideas.
Doing your research and asking questions is SO important!
I really enjoyed watching the video. Any chance I can see some of the finished photos?
This is really a great video but I just think u needed to have shown us the pictures u took of the Lady
This was a great video with a lot of helpful suggestions. I want to see more. LOL
How much do you charge for a lifestyle branding session?
Would have been useful to see some of the photos you took
Thank you!
Great video! The link to see the final work seems to be broken… can you provide that? I’d love to see the finished shots!
Best photo-shoot summary ever. Thank you!
Hold up. I saw the whole video and saw the whole shoot and you didn’t upload the resulting photos??? I even gave this video a thumbs up… you can’t leave us hanging like that. It’s like the projector breaking at a movie theater right before the end of the flick. We need closure!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this video and the final images!! Awesome work 🙂
Beautiful photo session. What kind of camera are you using? 🥰
I absolutely love this ! Thank you ✨
This was so incredibly awesome to watch!! You’re effortless in front of the camera! Your content is clear and to the point AND it’s so great to see behind the curtain! 😀
How many photos do you deliver? 🙂 I’m photographing a macrame artist today!
Tus vídeos me han ayudado bastante, ojalá subieras más 😢…cuidate, saludos desde Panamá 🙋🏻♀
I now have a reference..you are becoming my obsession. Greetings from Indonesia!
I really enjoyed watching the video. Any chance I can see some of the finished photos?
What plant is that? So lovely. Thank you for the detailed behind the scenes 😁
Love your approach – (especially shooting another photographer.).. I went to the gallery as well – LOVE your style….
This was SO helpful as a photographer! Thank you for taking the time to share this! Love, love, love your content 🥰
Wow you’re so good at giving directions! *takes notes*
Love It! Thank you for the ideas!
i wish you were on the east coast, i wish i could work with you
Very helpful – great video 😊 If you consider making a part 2 it would be very interesting and valuable to see how yo could also include other locations 🙏🏻
May I ask what lens you typically use for these shots?
Great video with lots of useful info, and you did a great job for your client. Her personality and brand really comes through!
Hi! The link doesn’t open
Thanks!
What cannon lens is that?
What settings did you use in your camera to get all of this sharp and in focus? Looks great.
Nice
Oh, I forgot – I would have been very helpful to hear what aperture you sued + to see some of the final images 🙌🏼
Totally unrelated, but girl that lipstick looks amazing on you!
would love to have seen the images.
Great video thanks for sharing
Very helpful. It might have been more useful to me to see more of the images that you and your client selected as the most useful, and less footage of you shooting.
Very helpful!
This is great, thank you so much for sharing. I’d love to view the ‘Identify Your Clients Brand/Business’ worksheet but the link no longer seems to work.
Absolutely great and informative… but geez I hate the “I love coffee” genre… sorry it’s just me.
Why did I forget that photographers need photos too?😂😂
This video is GREAT!
This was so interesting and helpful. Subbed 🙂 I would love a further video on this topic. After your client fills put your mini questionnaire linked in your bio, how you go about planning the shoot / props etc. I have such imposter syndrome and am afraid to go out of my comfort zone from normal couples shoots etc. This was genuinely so helpful and made me feel like I could do it.
but what playlist were you playing while you were shooting though because zayum
you deserve thousands more subscribers!!
Nice video. Beautiful model.
That was great.
great content, keep going!
Thank you. I’m a real estate photographer trying to add this to my repertoire. Are you using any flash with this shots or just ambient lighting?
4 years later and I’m dying to see the finished photos! 🥲
