Nolen inspired me to go get a film camera
Best film cameras to buy “2024” … 2 years ago
Nice😂🤝🏽
man the reviews on amazon for the Yashica are almost all negative
Thoughts on the Pentax ME super?
he cameras lis is fuked up
what about the pentax k1000, definitely my fav recommendation
My point and shoot of choice. Minolta Hi-Matic af or Olymus mju 1. Even Yashica Samurai 3.0 for halframe is fun, If you don’t mind the bulk or quirkiness. for Slr´s the Pentax Me is what I use (smallest classic slr made) or Nikon F80 is great and still pretty affordable, the later has many modern conveniences.
What a ludicrously flawed review. Nikon F2 is an ‘honourable mention’? Seriously? It was the ‘go-to’ professional tool in the 1970’s with a vast array of lenses, motor-drives, viewing screens, metering heads, specialist adaptations for micro (scope)-photography. It out-sold it’s successor (F3) initially because of it’s tank-like construction, versatility and non-reliance on batteries. The Nikon F2 is far more than an ‘honourable mention’, it’s a legend in film photography. To compare it to Canon’s AE1 is ridiculous. The Canon F1 was a similarly specified (to the F2) pro-level camera with much the same features, build quality, accessories and a dedicated range of colour-coded FD lenses. I own a Nikon F2AS but I would have been just as happy with the Canon F1. If budget is a consideration, the cheap and cheerful Ricoh (who now own Pentax) range might be worth considering as they accept the excellent Pentax K-mount range of lenses.
Thank you
Got a Mamiya C33 with 105 mm lens in almost new condition for $150 in 23 these cameras have interchangeable lenses if you want a professional 6×6 camera that hasn’t gone through the roof and a lot of fun to use ,put it on a tripod and bring out the Ansel Adams in you I can’t recommend it too much
That recommended Nikon 35Ti? eeesh, those things are now suffering from shutter failures. $800 gone as unfixable. Deans Camera Repair in Torrance, CA – who has been in business for over 30 years – says to avoid all expensive P&S cameras as they all are on their way out now. He has seen too many unfixable ones. Just get a cheap P&S that you won’t cry over if it breaks. Just buy another for $20 or so…
Parents are trying find good film style camera but most they find are the cheap style ones, they had a good one that lasted good while, dont remember brand, but it broke and they got rid of it and went digital. They regret doing that and going to store to get it fixed. Now they wanting to find a good film camera but having trouble finding one. Im thinking of surprising them but i didn’t realize how difficult it was trying to find one. Any recommendations where to get one? I know camera they had they gotten when mom went to college and one of courses she took she had to get a decent camera for shooting wildife in out doors, afterwards it was her go to camera for family photos, it wasnt the most expensive camera but it wasnt the cheapest either.. Sorry if not any help
The Pentax p3 cameras are a great first time slr you can find a body for $45
Changing the video title is so smart. It’s not like the info is going to change that much in 2 years.
It the Nikon FM2 a better choice/deal compared to Canon A-1 or Pentax K1000 or Olympus OM-10?
The Nikon 8008s is usually overlooked and that is a shame. The auto focus os not as fast as later Nikons, but it is deadly accurate. I took one with a 50/1,4 Nikkor akog with a top of the line Canon EOS 1, also with a 50/1,4, to a Halloween party to test it out and the 8008s would focus when the Canon wouldn’t . Low light? No problem. Black on black? Also no problem.
While the professional level EOS was hunting for a focus, I as taking pictures with the Nikon. Also overlooked is the Nikon FG. Smaller than the Nikon FM and FG, it is manual focus with aperture preferred, program and metered manual. I will often grag that instead of an F3.
f16 camera store is where you can find some
used cameras
Well guess what he also changed it to 2024
Olympus OM2/OM-G to me is the absolute Apex predator in the $100-150 arena.
Stout, gorgeous, very very easy to learn, and the Zuiko lenses are insanely good. They stand toe to toe with Leica of the same era, at a tiny fraction of the cost.
Renamed to 2024 lol

And you forgot the Nikon F6!😊
hey is there a film camera for like dark places
Pentax. Once a professional camera maker. Canon and Nikon just drove them under. One good thing is that you can use old Pentax lenses on the current digital cameras (most of them).
Me wen I turned 18 saving for my dream film camera then the price doubles 😭
For the yashika mf1 if your into fashion supreme has released their take on it and its honestly pretty cool, I mean its over double the price of a regular one but if youre into it it’s not that bad. They go for like $100-$130 (dont pay a dime over $130 or you are being scammed lol)
What are your thoughts on the Canon P?
Is that last Chuck Orear medium format shot THE image that was used for the Windows desktop backgrounds?!
Yashica T4? Ugh really? That was not convincing considering what you can get with film SLRs for $200-400
Question….let’s say you have for instance a Nikon F5 & F6 with identical settings, glass and film….wouldn’t they produce identical photos? With digital you have a sensor that records the data, which differs between camera models and may produce different results. With film cameras the variable is the film so does it really matter what body you choose aside from ergonomics or is metering a major factor? Thx for the help.
You meant 2026
I found a broken Nikon FM2n for $20 about 10 years ago. It was full of sand, after removing the sand inside the camera body, it started firing again. It’s the best camera I have owned. However, I have different opinion than most people in medium format category, which is the format that I mainly shoot with. I think the Mamiya C220/330 is the best system under $500. Way superior to any Yashicas and overprice Rolleiflex 2.8f which is just a Zeiss Planar, and ARAX 60 or Hartblei Kiev 60 actually are more reliable than Pentax 67 since they’re brand new. More importantly, you can use P6 lenses. You can put a Schneider Xenotar 80mm 2.8 on a Kiev 60 instead of spending $2000 only for a Pentax 67II body. Even if you still have an extra $2000 to spend, you have a very limited selection of lenses in the Pentax 67 system.
Nikons F and F2 are head and shoulders above most mechanical cameras in the SLR domain. And affordable too. !00% frame accurate viewing, something the others do not have. Can be very important in film/slide shooting.
Is there a good fixed lens slr ?
do camera prices ever come back down? has anyone seen this happen? once it trends its over.
5 rolls of 35mm film £85 (Porta 400). I’m going to sell all my film cameras and move to digital. Why the film prices are bonkers?
Been using the very cheap (40$) Asahi Pentax Spotmatic for a few years now. Amazing camera body with thousand of lenses with the M42 mount. Best starter camera!
the title was 2022 then bro changed it to 2023 now it’s changed to 2024💀🙏🏾
No, this cameras suffer from their complicated mechanics. I owned a yashica of this kind myself. Unfortunately they dont Last..
Here before best cameras to buy in 2025
You covered most of the heavy hitters, but perhaps the Bronica cameras would be good for medium format, medium budget.
Any recommendations for black nd white only camera
I recently used my friend’s Nikon F4 and it’s a damn spaceship
im looking at the kodak ektar would u say that its good?
Did you just change the title to 2023? 😁
Don’t call me buddy
We had our wedding photography done on film without tons of touch-up and supplmental lighting. It was gorgeous in 2016, and we knew it. Didnt need to be 2022 to know film looks better than digital. Duh.
Canon EOS Kiss III; about 30 euros on Kameratori certified, and you can use any ef lenses
