HOW TO create unique perspectives on a popular location
HOW TO create unique perspectives on a popular location
This week Adam and i return to Elgol in Scotland and i discuss How to create unique perspectives on a popular location. In Landscape Photography we often visit popular locations and for good reason they are usually beautiful. However we don’t have to settle for repeating the same image that everyone else has taken, By taking time to explore the areas we visit unique perspectives can be found that are more personal to us .

Great shots Paul and a nice topic too. I often end up heading to a location where a particular shot has been done to death because I want one of my own. But once that’s captured, it’s always the alternatives which end up getting printed. I’ve had much more luck going to famous locations and taking non-famous pictures, than I have had attempting to recreate something I’ve seen from another photographer who’s images I’ve enjoyed.
Those are some amazing photographs, and great tips. Cheers.
Very nice images. It was very helpful when you showed the impact of adjusting your position relative to the rocks as a leading line to the mountains.
Job well done. Beautiful light and selections. thanks Paul
Some great images there Paul and something to take into consideration thanks for the suggestions. My favourite image was at 9:03 the light was incredible. The following morning first shot is lovely like you said the dark rocks work great against the filtered motion of the waves and splendid colours on the mountain tops and the light leading you got across the water.👏👏
Wow Paul, you certainly caught the conditions in the first images. The exposure time was perfect with detail in the waves. I think some photographers use too long an exposure with their water shots resulting in the water looking too blurred. I was at Elgol in that exact location early February and my tripod blew over (not too much damage to the camera thankfully) and it wasn’t as windy as you experienced. I have sold the old tripod and I’m now a proud owner of a Kingjoy C85 tripod. Can’t believe how sturdy it is.
Cracking images brother, that light in one of these tight panos was incredible
Good Show — its s good spot even it has been visited often .
Cracking images, Love Elgol, spend a couple of weeks a year in one of those cottages just behind the bottom carpark. Don’t neglect the harbour area, you can get some great shots of the boats coming in with the sunset behind. Going back in 3 weeks time can’t wait
Another great video Paul, with great tips!
Great images Paul, I liked the higher perspective shots, as you say we normally head to the beach, though the last time I was there the wind was so strong it was hard to stand up, greta experience though.

Beautiful shots! Some great clouds and light. You and Adam are real jinx’s on automobiles when you’re together aren’t you. Didn’t his van let you down when you were heading into the US? 🙂
Nice place and fantastic shots, congrats!
Thanks Paul, great images. 👏
Wow! Beautiful shots and amazing light!! I enjoy shooting Seascapes as often as I can. Thanks for sharing!
Great shots a tips! Thanks Paul!
Beautiful location Paul. Yet more cracking photo`s, got to love the Isle of Skye.🙂✌
Well done Paul, excellent images…. It always pays to look around for something different. I always enjoy your videos! ❤
some absolute beautiful photography there mate! Nice to catch up with you in a vid. I was in Skye around the same time maybe give or take a few days!
One day I shall get up to Scotland. It always looks stunning.
