Rifle Silhouette Hold

Rifle Silhouette Hold

Shooting silhouette pigs at 60 meters.

Consistency is key! Form a solid stance that is repeatable and allows you to have a natural point of aim. If you don’t come down on target adjust your feet, don’t rotate your body with your torso muscles.

Pick a spot on the target and shoot for that. Try not to hesitate, if you’re on target, take the shot. It’s easy to get locked up by trying to make a great shot better. Make sure to follow through, keep that trigger pulled back. Don’t forget to have fun!

This is what I struggle with the most, staying inside the target.

I just want to thank you for all you have done for our sport… Your desire and dedication to the silhouette community is awesome… I shot my first silhouette match in 1979… After the first animal I hit… I was hooked… I was living in Iowa at the time and then there was a very strong following.. It was nothing to have 30 shooters show up for a single day match… The early 80s where awesome… Then around 88 or 89 the numbers starting to fall off very quickly.. By the mid 90s if 10 shooters showed up it was a good day.. By 99 all the clubs folded and silhouette simply dried up… Im in Michigan now .. For about 10 years we were looking at around 5-7 shooters per match TOPS… For several years some of the other shooting sports really didnt want to recognize the silhouette game as a legitimate game… At one of the banquets I attenended at the end of the year I remember hearing some position shooters call us a bunches of tin can shooters… but those shooters would not give up… A handful of shooters kept it alive for many years… Now we have a group of guys that shoot almost every saturday afternoon til dark and some on tuesday night… Its slowly gaining traction… A couple of times some of us even would let new shooters use our rifles to try it… I know that my years are gaining on me now but I have a few good scores left in me… My son is loving it hes 16 and my 17 year old daughter wants to try… Im thankful… When its time for me to stop shooting I will still spot for my kids until the day they carry me off the range feet first… Keep up the good work… Thx again… MJensen

Hi Eric, great video. What’s the distance to the practice targets? What’s the total weight of your rifles- It looks amazing by the way 💪

Adding music ruins a good shooting video especially ihmsa videos.
I enjoy hearing the firearms pistols or rifles going off and enjoying their rifles or pistols, hearing the shooters conversations or their instructions
With that being said if I wanted to listen to music I’ll listen to the radio
    With Due Respect
