THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!
I love this video! I’m going to be taking classes and you just took a little bit of my anxiety away
There is so much I agree with in this video. I was trained in a lot of the same ways you are telling everyone. This is such good advice and such a good reminder to keep in mind no matter who you are. I explained the value example from the beginning to so many people and they always say I’m “short selling” when I see it as a resume builder. I’ve shot 100’s of events, but not weddings, I need to be established as a wedding photographer before I can charge what I am worth. This is such a positive and well spoken video
i charged $180 for a family members wedding photoshoot. and she only payed $100. which $180 is extremely cheap. and I gave her 50 photos, and edited all of them, she also loved them and so did her family.
even if your new to the game should still changer something not do it for free.. ??
Just been asked by a collegue to photograph her wedding … scared but honoured to do it … havnt said yes yet though but I am seriously concidering it and videos like yours help me
Thank you! I loved your video and I learned a lot. I liked it and shared it and posted a comment, hoping this will help you back 😉
It’s for really close family so it’s so uncomfortable asking for payment 😅

Pye 1 question I’m in Australia & 2nd shooters are full time employees to you all other are booking &doing their own weddings. I was building a fairly strong wedding photography business back in the film days and have just started to come back shooting weddings again now getting the hang of digital I’m using d850 d750 as back up and cannon f1 & t90 for my film shots so it’s very hard for 2nd shooter I have my wife who is good with a camera doing some secondary shooting using d750 so can you please tell me how do I get around this 2nd shooter is what I’m doing acceptable

Thanks, was helpful
I narrowly pulled off my first wedding last week. Client just left a stellar review today. I thought I was ready for any problem…but I wasn’t.
1. Unless you absolutely must, avoid silent shutter mode. Nearby LEDs caused slight orange bars/color banding during the ceremony. I was completely unaware that this was a thing. I quickly caught it and was able to correct in post, but I wish I had known about it ahead of time. If you must use silent photography, get a tripod and shoot at 1/00s or under to minimize or avoid banding. When I noticed the orange bars on my ceremony photos while it was occurring I nearly shit myself.
2. Unless you know your flash supports HSS, make sure to cap your shutter speed with flash at 1/200s. If faster and your flash doesn’t support shutter speeds beyond that, you can get curtain drag where half of the sensor is dark. Happened to me; I quickly switched out the lens to stop the issue.
I was panicked during my shoot but I’m lucky it still turned out okay. Best of luck.
Thank you very You just save me about £2,000 also Thank you your adive I look forward to see more Thank You

What percentage of images should I be shooting vertical – my commercial work is nearly 100% vertical nowadays

This is a life saver for me! One of my sister’s friend’s is having a wedding in 4 days and their photographer canceled today. I was asked a few minutes ago to do them since I take photos occasionally
that last tip is super smartt
Thank you so much for these amazong tips. Hugs from Puerto Rico
as an experienced wedding photographer who charges $10k+ per wedding these are very good solid advice. I second these advice. Follow it. My only other advice is get to know the couple. Build a bond and a relationship with them. It makes the day more fun and enjoyable and they will appreciate you more. Also keep things simple. Until you have the experience dont try and do fancy stuff. it will fail.
Ive never shot 1 wedding but i have business experience in other areas. Considering time, gear that youve purchased, post processing, and hours at the wedding. 400 would be my absolute minimum. Yes it does depend on how many hours.
Bro I love your energy,I just received My first camera yesterday and I have a wedding to shoot early next month, and listening to this makes me feel ready, thank you
Wow, you were top of the search for a reason. Thanks for sharing.
