Awesome
What about lens focal length’s impact on dof?
Can you make a video on Long-exposure photography
thanks for all of your help david!!!!
Very clever as always, man you and candy. Sweet tooth. Nice job, happy new year!
Great video man ๐๐ฝ Tell me if Iโm wrong but thereโs one more thing that affects the depth of field and thatโs the focal length from the objective right?
Wow, still missing information. ๐
I just turn my phone to Live Focus and get amazing depth of field shots ๐ Actually love that feature of the Samsung phones.
Thanks for the tip, Happy New year to you and your family
Happy New Year, bud! Are you going to WPPI this February?
Canโt wait for you to review the insta360 ONE R…this is the GoPro killer
Happy New Year!!
Can u please do a review on the gopro 8 vlogging set up
Donโt forget sensor size! ๐ The bigger the sensor, the larger the circles of confusion. Not sure if it actually changes the depth of field, but them circles are bigger for sure
No matter the topic or if it has use to me, I love the videos, keep it up ๐๐ป excited to see what your produce this year !
Where is my giveaway
This, this is why this is my favorite channel. Anyone else been here while he was under 10k* subs? ๐โโ๏ธ
Howโs that 90mm macro? Planning on purchasing one some time
I love this tip, I hope it boosts everyone’s skills! Blew up my photography game when I figured it out.
Happy New Year man! Love the channel, especially the tips and reviews videos, great stuff. I think it would help if you use more photo/video material as presentation even during your explanations though. Regardless, a big like for this video and can’t wait for more videos! Cheers from Slovenia
Can you apply this to a video with a GoPro Hero 9?
Could you please do a video on how to color grade your GoPro footage on FCPX? I use your recommended settings but I would love to learn how you color grade after putting GoPro settings on like "Flat" for Color and "Native" for WB.
Love how you explained this! Also, I think focal length would be important to bring up, compression gives the look of more or less DOF, right?
Love it that you’re back! Happy New Year! Wish you a great new decade haha ๐
Is that the Sony A7RIII or IV? Would love to hear your opinion on it and also if you have some experience with the A6400/A6600? Want to get myself a new camera, still shooting on my good old Nikon D300 (I love it, but a 13yr old camera is showing its lack of tech) and i would like to be able to film with the camera as well.
Cheers!!
Well explained…but perhaps include FOCAL LENGTH
"Three main factors that will affect how you control the depth of field of your images are: aperture (f-stop), distance from the subject to the camera, and focal length of the lens on your camera."
You ruined it! Whyyy!! I didnt want to know its not a new decade! ๐
It feels like a new decade because the ten-digit changes. And time is subjective so if people think it’s a new decade it is a new decade. Technicality doesn’t matter as much.
Hey David, I’m a beginner, absolute complete freshie when it comes to photography/cameras/lenses. I”ve got a Nikon D90 (I know it’s an oldie) with an 18-55mm. Bit of a stupid question, but I can’t get lower than F3.5 trying to get that nice shallow depth of field. Would I need to purchase another lens kit to achieve this?
Happy New Year David and Welcome Back
You are absolutely right, the new decade starts 2021.
Aperture, distance And focal length
It also works on how far/near your subject is to the background. The more you get the subject away from the background the more bouquet effect you’ll get.
It’s gotta be focal length!
We missed you! ๐โ๏ธ๐ค
Happy new year!
Great tip, thank you! Here’s a suggestion for another tip – how does focal length of your lens affect the depth of field? It obviously affects field of view, but what about depth of field? E.g. if you are 2 feet away and you shoot something with a 24mm lens at F4.0 and 85mm lens at F4.0, how is depth of field going to differ? Or is it not, just the field of view?
The years 2021 and a virus hits millions…definitely a good decade which is upcoming. (Bad sarcasm)
Probably on of the most effective representations of this I’ve seen on YouTube, keep it up man!
Good reminder
Happy New Year David. I am curious, what does the depth of field look like if you enlarge the skittles in the distant-image to the same size they are in the close-up image??? Is it the same?????
Good stuff! Say hi to your beautiful wife for me
Good as always
Just becomes better and better every time ๐
Happy New Year!!! So stoked to be back with this quick tip about controlling depth of field. Head to 1:53 to jump straight into the Quick Tip!!!
Great tip ๐๐ฝ
Thanks SO MUCH for explaining how decades, centuries, & millennia work. So many people get this wrong.
Great vid too. LOL
Hi David, that camera you recommend for beginners for 500$,thanks.
๐คฏ All new view on depth of field! Thank you!
Nice video brotha, that camera looks like a good one! Which one is it?
Happy new year 2020
You are right many educated and over exiting people calling it as new decade start (educated) – feel shy when they see this video
Nice useful tip
Thanks
Sensor size?
Speed Booster?
Hey I actually guessed correctly!!! lolol
